Carbon Literacy is defined as “an awareness of the greenhouse gas costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions on an individual, community and organisational basis”.
There is a Carbon Literacy Project, an independent not-for-profit organisation, setting the standard, and has accredited tens of thousands of learners from thousands of organisations as being Carbon Literate. Cragend Farm Estate is fully committed to our visitors to demonstrate this accreditation.
Carbon Literacy is one of the key initiatives in our Net Zero Carbon Programme. (see Blog on our Nett Zero Policy). Carbon Literacy will ensure everyone, can contribute to our net zero goal. Every action and decision taken by us can have an impact, so we have equipped ourselves with the knowledge and enthusiasm to put climate action into what we do in our everyday life.
We have been on a Carbon Literacy Course in association with Historic Houses and HBAP.
