Great Reviews

We pride ourselves in giving everyone a great experience at Cragend Farm whether you stay in our B&B rooms or our self catering cottage.

Here is a great review from a recent visitor for you to judge for yourself:

'Lou & Shaun were fabulous hosts that were very welcoming and provided a wonderful breakfast too.

They were also very knowledgable about the area and also the history surrounding Cragend Grange and Cragside National Trust property it borders.

The room and ensuite were very spacious and comfortable and a bonus was being able to see the Hydraulic machinery preserved that had powered both Cragside and Cragend in the 1800's.'

About the author

Lou is the owner of Cragend Farm with her husband Shaun, and deals with everything from Holiday Accommodation inquiries to egg collection from the chickens; she is the social media and web design finger-tapper.

It was nice being on a small working farm with rare-breed cattle and sheep in the fields...Shaun gave us a tour of the farm and showed us the Grade 2* listed silage barn which is the original and the only one of its kind remaining. We spent a whole day on the Cragside estate, it's walkable from the cottage. We travelled to Alnwick Castle, Hadrians Wall and two of the best beaches anywhere. Rothbury is a five minute drive with a nice variety of small shops. All in all a lovely, relaxing place to stay.

I loved it. A working farm full of character sited on NT land. My room and bathroom were huge and great for me and my 2 spaniels. There was large paddock available to exercise the dogs. The owners were quite inspiring and very helpful, giving me good advice on the area and directions. Breakfast was excellent catering for my preferences
