Stay & Gaze
Through Visit Northumberland we have been accredited as a Dark Sky viewing area, where if you stay with us, the opportunities to view the cosmos are right outside the door here.
We have been lucky enough to see the Aurora Borealis and many meteor showers whilst living here and we often get to see the International Space station, plus many planets and star constellations.
Keilder Observatory has tours and evening events for star gazing, and you can book with them for a visit. However, our sky is here 24/7 and if it is a clear night, you are welcome to take a walk outside and view our amazing skies as a guest staying here.
We are very aware of light pollution i our area and take great care to operate PIR lights low wattage outdoor lighting, to reduce light pollution in our direct area.
