This is Mrs Millard (nee Bowes) who rented East Cottage as a holiday cottage in the 1930's at Cragend Farm.
We recently had some visitors here who where driving a beautiful Model T and they said they would research what sort of car Mrs Millard was driving:
"We tracked the car in the photo down to be a Riley and below are some details from the secretary of the Riley register giving you more information on it.
We believe it to be a version of the Riley Special Touring Car ... and is most likely an 11.9 bhp version from around 1925; front wheel brakes were an optional extra; although the door shape looks a little different it could be a combination of artistic license and Riley inconsistency."
Thanks to Anthea Logan-Wood and Katherine Foggon for the information on Mrs Millard.
