Just a short note to say that our dear friend and neighbour Margaret Straughan passed away on 31st December New Years Eve 2020 after a brave battle with cancer.

She has been a major part of our lives since we bought Cragend Farm in 2010 and was a vital part of piecing together the history of the farm.

She was a kind and jolly neighbour, sharing recipes and thoughts for the day. She looked after our children as they grew up babysitting for us on many occasions. Often she rescued us if we had locked ourselves out. She was always there if you needed a 'cup of sugar' or a chat over a coffee. Her love for life, the countryside and animals was great and confirmed our reasons for wanting to live in such a beautiful place as Cragend.

Her husband, children and grandchildren have also become friends.

Her and her family have lived here and in Rothbury for many generations and she was known throughout the Coquet Valley. Cragend was her home for over 40 years.

Her funeral is on Friday 15th January 2021 and we send our condolences to all her family and friends.
